We watched the entirety of the CMAs tonight, which, by the way, seemed very very long. Throughout we get the little blips for the headlines on the 10 o'clock news, which we pay little attention to. Well, the news comes on, and here's how it goes:
"A man is in critical condition this evening after being stabbed twice this morning in the southside"
I think "hmmm, the South Side, wonder where it happened."
Up comes a picture of OUR HOUSE. The house we are closing on on Tuesday. What?!?!?
So there it is, a stabbing in the alley behind our house. Don't worry mom, that's the guy we were already planning on evicting.
**Shock**
Disclaimer: this was a targeted crime. It doesn't change how safe we do/do not feel, or the ability of God to protect us where we have been called.
