Since being here, we have learned that there is strong Christian influence in this neighborhood. There is a community developer, rescue mission, many churches, and a transitional program for people coming out of prison. There is also a scattering of individuals and families living in the neighborhood for the purpose of loving their neighbors the way Jesus has called us to. It is a great encouragement to see the people of this city responding to God's call to love and serve the poor and outcast. In contrast to our neighborhood in Memphis, there is little connection between these ministries and individuals. One of the greatest needs we see among the believers here is a unified sense of purpose and vision, many parts of one body all working together for Jesus. We are very thankful that Eric has been able to initiate relationships with many of these ministries and individuals.
In November we began meeting as a house church on Sunday evenings. We meet at 316 Jefferson, a renovated town house in what most would say is the 'worst' part of Billings. It is currently being used to house single mothers and their children and as a place of meeting and community. On a given week we may have between eight and fifteen people, and many children. We are currently studying Firm Foundations, a sequential set of Bible stories that tells the story of God's redemption of His people beginning with creation. Most of the neighborhood folks attending are very young in their faith or unbelievers. We have also had several teenagers join us as part of a community service program.

- New and strengthened relationships among our neighbors
- Consistency among those attending church
- The youth in the community service program to know and love Jesus
- Spiritual growth for new and young believers
- Unity among ministries and believers in the neighborhood
